Q: I've heard that I can't participate in some of the Union Plus programs. Why doesn't my union offer all the Union Plus benefits? A: We are happy that you are interested in our programs! Each international union selects the Union Plus benefits it wants to participate in. If you feel you'd benefit from a program that your union doesn't offer, you may want to contact your union to express your interest. It may consider participating in more programs in the future. Try visiting the AFL-CIO Web site to find your union's contact information. TOP Q: You offer valuable benefits, but I'm not a union member. How can I join or start a union? A: Union Plus benefits are exclusively for union members. Please visit the AFL-CIO Web site for information on how and why people join unions. TOP Q: Can you tell me my union ID/member number? A: Sorry, we do not have records of union IDs or member numbers. You do not need your member number in order to use the Union Plus benefits. Some unions do not even have member numbers. If you need your member number for some reason, contact your local. Try visiting the AFL-CIO Web site to find your union's contact information. TOP Q: I have a question about my union dues. Can you help? A: No dues money goes into the development or operation of any Union Plus program. We are not a union office; instead, we offer a variety of benefits to participating unions. Please contact your local or international union with questions about your dues. Try visiting the AFL-CIO Web site to find your union's contact information. TOP Q: Can you tell me about upcoming conferences for my union? A: Local, state, regional and international unions have many events throughout the year. Please visit the AFL-CIO Web site to locate your union. TOP Q: I need to get in touch with my local union. Could you give me the phone number? A: Sorry, we do not have phone numbers for local unions. You can contact your national union headquarters and they can provide you with the local union number. Try visiting the AFL-CIO Web site to find your national (and some local) union's contact information. TOP Q: I'm a union member with American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). I heard that I should call them directly for benefits information. Do you have contact information? A: Yes, the AFGE Benefits hotline is: 1-888-844-2343. TOP Q: Where can I find information about the different types of Union Plus programs and the services they include? A: Thanks for your interest! Visit our Benefits section (also available from every page in the red left sidebar) for complete program descriptions. Keep in mind that each international AFL-CIO union selects the Union Plus programs it participates in and offers to members. TOP Q: I'm not sure what my international union name is. Can you help? A: If your international union participates in Union Plus programs, you may be able to recognize your union's name in the pull-down menus near the bottom of the online feedback form. Otherwise, try checking some of the following sources:
